Well, after Seattle we headed out to check out Olympic National Park and the town of Port Angeles, WA. Of course we wanted to see this incredible park, but Winston also had the opportunity to meet with the folks at Olympic Park Institute, which is a part of NatureBridge.
Although the weather was a bit rainy and cold the first day we still went on a short hike up Hurricane Hill in the Hurricane Ridge area of the park. The weather obscured most of the views, but the snowy hike was still great and the clouds parted enough to get a few quick glimpses of the mountains. That evening we had a wonderful dinner in Port Angeles at Joy’s Wine Bistro.
The next morning Anne had a chance to hike to Marymere Falls while Winston discussed job opportunities with the folks at Olympic Park Institute. The Institute and NatureBridge overall is a fantastic organization that is really doing great things to further environmental education and a sense of sustainability in today’s youth. After wrapping up in the Olympic area we headed down to Portland to visit friends and see the city.
