Glacier National Park

Winston and I drove straight to Glacier National Park from Helmville, which was a fantastic drive. We set up camp at Saint Mary Campground on the East Side and drove on to the Lodge in the Many Glacier area to try and spot some moose by the lakes. We did a short trail, but found no moose. However, Glacier is so drastically different from Yellowstone that the hiking in itself was unique and refreshing. The snow covered mountains and aqua colored lakes are really a sight to see.

After our evening hike, we settled in for the night and made a plan for how to spend our only day in Glacier the next day. After a hike up to the beautiful Virginia Falls we moved to the West Side to Fish Creek Campground. We really liked our camp spot in Saint Mary, but Fish Creek was a totally different feeling. We were right on the water and there were many more trees. From there, we hiked the John's Lake Loop, which was awesome! There were barely any people in the park and we really felt secluded on our hikes, which was fine by us. We tried to moose track again, but with no luck - it gives us an excuse to go back to Glacier - our favorite National Park so far. The John's Lake Loop provided us with a trail smashed in with trees. It was a cool feeling to be completely surrounded by nature.

We headed to North Bend, WA from Glacier, but will surely return!
